Fun on Friday
Yep, all kinds of shenanigans as an early VTC nearly bores us all to death, then I prep for a high level meeting on Somalia that turns into an in-depth discussion on the Commonwealth.
My trivia team at the wedding themed event - “As Long As We Both Shall Quiz” - led just before the final round, then we fell to seventh place (out of 11) as we failed to answer the last two questions correctly!

Tip Top Thursday
So the frantic feel to diplomacy continued today as we tried to get HQ to listen to our advice on Commonwealth issues…
… But things improved considerably in the evening as the Divas Who Dine had an al fresco meal at The Black Tomato. We seem to have gone from winter to summer, with no spring at all!

May Day
Lots of diplomatic activity today, including Somalia, Sri Lanka and scholarships. Did you like what I did there?
Spring seems to have arrived overnight - 25 degrees in O-Town!
Number of meetings: two
Number of car journeys: one return trip
First frappuccino of the year - yay!

Wrong Wednesday; so, I started work at 0800 and did not leave until 1800. And I had to miss the Ghana National Say celebrations at lunch time at the Chateau because I needed to catch up *sob*
Today, the Future International Leaders’ Programme, Chevening, Iran nuclear, Falklands, Maldives and Sri Lanka were on my radar.
And to add insult to injury, my washing machine is STILL not fixed…
6 March 2013
Tiring Tuesday: so, only two days into the working week and I am already bloody knackered. Falklands, Iran, death of Chavez…
I ran out if time to do my report on Sri Lanka - so I am going to have to play catch up all week *sob*
5 March 2013
Muddled Monday: so, I guess I was tired because it was hard to focus today and I probably came across as a Distracted Diva… Not a good look.
We had lunch with an interesting contact though (the huge plate of pasta made me super sleepy) and then we went to Parliament for a meeting with the leader of a major political party.
Falklands, Mali, Somalia, Chevening and Future International Leaders.
4 March 2013
Silly Sunday: so, after looking at an apartment for Greg and Vietnamese Pho for lunch, we went to a camper van/RV expo..! It was all a bit odd… Maybe our road trip will be delayed for a while.
Number of car trips: more than three.
Number of trips to Tim Horton’s: two.
Number of doughnuts consumed: one.
Number of prizes won: none.
3 March 2013
Snow on Saturday: just lots of life admin today.
2 March 2013
Fun Friday: so, it was a busy one - an end of year review, Somalia, a visit programme for MLAs, booking a venue for lunch on Monday… But the important one was submitting my claim for taxi fares since last June - a mere $921!!!
My original plan was to rock up to the St David’s Day reception but then I had the opportunity to gaze upon the beauty that is Bradley Cooper and my new girl crush Jennifer Lawrence. So I trotted off to the cinema to see “Silver Linings Playbook”. It was OK.
Number of telephone calls: more than three.
Number of attempts on PRISM: two.
Number of cinema tickets: one.
Hey John Kerry - well done! You condemned PM of Turkey’s comments about Zionism without offending your hosts. Kudos! But I still love Hillary…
Oh, Dave? Yeah, THIRD! Behind UKIP!!!
1 March 2013
Tired on Thursday: so, it is full on right now - Falklands, Latin America, Burma, G8, Syria, the EU…
My drafting appears to have gone off the boil too. But in other news, I booked my tickets to London today - yay! Three days docked at the mother ship then Easter at Diva Towers UK.
Number of re-drafts: three.
Number of Notes Verbales signed: two.
Number of lunch invitations issued: one.
How cute is the post-Oscars banter between Jennifer Lawrence and Jack Nicholson?
